Summary: While this building is clean and modern, beware that the elevator goes only to the 3rd floor - so if you're room is on the 4th floor, you will need to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. Our room was VERY VERY small, even by european standards. The (king sized) bed was also basically on the ground. There was not enough space in the room for my husband and I to have our small (carry on sized) suitcases opened at the same time. Also the opening to the shower is very narrow! The Japanese toilet was a nice perk. Kerns is a very small town, and to get there you need to take a city bus from Sarnen (short ride). The hotel has a restaurant and there are a few other restaurants in town, but it is a mostly residential town. I would not stay at this hotel again - but it is clean, safe and modern. Check in was fully automated and you can unlock your door with your smartphone - however it is difficult to reach staff if there is an issue.
